Automation holds the key to innovation. Organizations are looking to innovate every corner of their business to improve efficiency and reduce cost. MuleSoft Automation empowers the teams to do more with less built with business and IT teams in mind. MuleSoft Automation packages the right tools for every team to easily automate any manual or repetitive task.

(00:34):
Meet Abigail, a customer of Cumulus Bank. She would like to add her husband, David as an authorized person to her account. She can request an authorized user to be added by sending an email to the customer relationship team at the bank. Amy is a customer relationship manager at Cumulus Bank. When a request is received, she downloads the request form, captures the new user information, and updates it on Financial Services Cloud. She then sends an email to the authorized person confirming the update. Amy spends quite a substantial amount of time servicing these type of requests manually while having to work on other issues, which needs more human intervention.

(01:24):
By combining the cover of MuleSoft Composer and MuleSoft RPA, it is now possible to automate all of these steps. MuleSoft RPA provides the ability to extract authorized user information from the PDF. MuleSoft Composer can pick up the new email event, call RPA to extract the information, and update Salesforce as a downstream action. Let us now look at how MuleSoft RPA can be used to read a PDF document automatically. MuleSoft RPA Manager provides the ability to evaluate, design, test, and manage the RPA processes in a unified platform. Business teams can use the RPA manager to design the business process. They want to automate using the standards-based PPMN notation. They can also use the RPA process recorder to capture the actions from a user's Windows desktop. Once done, the RPA process can be published to the build face so the developers can implement the process. MuleSoft RPA Builder allows developers to implement the process using pre-built toolbox items that provide a variety of functionality, including Excel, file, mail, and OCR operations among others. Let us now look at a PDF read operation in action. The element allows for data to be extracted from a PDF document by defining a scan area. A simple test here shows that the data is extracted into an alpha numeric text from the defined area. The data thus extracted can be returned by the RPA process. Processes built on RPA Builder is synchronized with RPA Manager. When a developer completes the build, it can be pushed to the IT teams for testing and deployment.

(03:45):
The RPA process can now be deployed to test and for production by the appropriate stakeholders and can have a run configuration attached to it. A run configuration can be scheduled or invocation based. The Invo Run configuration assigns the RPA process to AB bot as an API. This provides the ability to invoke it from Composer, any point Salesforce or any other third-party applications. The RPA process is now ready to be integrated. Let us now see how we can extend the RPA process to application integration using MuleSoft Composer. We start off by configuring a Gmail connector with the all-new mail operation. Next, we will add the RPA connector that will invoke the previously created reusable automation. The RPA connector can be configured with the RPA instance by specifying the host and API key. Once the connection is configured, we will select the RPA process to be executed. We will now add a step to update the authorized user information on Salesforce. We will map the user information fetch from the RPA process on the account data. This is done so that the data can be synced with the Financial Services cloud. Finally, we will add a Gmail connector to send the email confirmation to the new authorized user.

(05:45):
The Composer flow is now complete and is ready to be activated. Let us now see the Composer flow in action. When a customer sends an email with a user authorization request form, the flow gets triggered. The RPA bot extracts the authorized user information and returns it to Composer, which then updates the information on Salesforce. Finally, the Composer Flow also sends an email confirmation to the new authorized user. By combining the power of MuleSoft RPA and MuleSoft Composer, all of these operations were performed automatically avoiding any manual errors, thereby saving time and cost. MuleSoft Automation uniquely provides the best of both worlds for creating better experience for your customers and employees. Amy can now focus on the other important support issues that need her attention, and Abigail is now a happy customer since her request was handled in a matter of minutes, not days.
