Anypoint Design Center - flow designer
What is Anypoint Design Center - flow designer?
Flow designer is a simple, web-based interface for designing Mule applications for Anypoint Platform, perfect for those who are new to integration. Flow designer provides:
- A guided flow design experience, intuitive for the user
- Autopopulation of reusable assets as you design
- Simple drag-and-drop data transformation capabilities
- Live view of input and output data as the flow is triggered
- The ability to promote applications to different environments
Learn what else you can do with Anypoint Platform.
In flow designer, each modular component is represented as a card. Each card contains a set of next steps you can choose from to guide your integration process. Once the design process is complete, you deploy the project, and the steps will be executed from left to right.
Click on the card to configure its fields. You'll notice all reusable assets stored in Anypoint Exchange - whether publicly accessible or private within your organization - automatically populate within this view. Also, any RAML or OpenAPI Specification file you add to the Exchange will automatically be converted into a connector, simplifying configuration and consumption.
Leverage the full power of DataWeave, all within flow designer. You can use the UI to drag and drop elements, or write out your transformations using the DataWeave language. As you make changes to your transformation, you can also see a preview of your output data reflected in real time.
As data transitions through the cards in the flow, it’s transformed, and the changes are reflected on each card. You'll notice the payload, its attributes and each variable listed, helping you understand what is happening in each step of the process. Within each card, these elements can be created, deleted, edited or kept unchanged.
The live debug view allows you to see in real time how your flows are working. Green and red status bars highlight in real time which cards executed successfully and which did not. You can also open the cards to see actual input and output payloads, enabling you to quickly determine what data is available where.
“MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform plays a key role in our strategy to enable reuse and consumption across the organization and to build connected applications with a digital-first approach.”
