Mule ESB: Deep Visibility

Overview

Mule ESB Enterprise offers deep visibility at multiple levels.  It provides business-level visibility for root cause analysis and regulatory compliance, technical visibility for problem resolution and debugging, and operational visibility for system-level performance management and monitoring.

Business Transaction Visibility

Mule's Business Event Anlayzer provides deep visibility into business transactions.  For each event within a transaction, processing time and status is provided giving you the ability to:

  • Do root cause analysis, for example to determine why an order has not been delivered and resolve the issue
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by logging events to an external database for discovery and/or analysis
  • Undertake Business Activity Monitoring for real time insights into business data
  • Integrate with Business Intellegence (BI) tools to improve quality of business decision making 

Message Flow Visibility

Developers also benefit from the deep visibility offered by Mule Enterprise Edition.  It allows them to drill deep into messages flowing through the bus.  The Service Flow Analyzer aids development and problem resolution by:

  • Providing granular detail of messages within an applications, speeding debugging time
  • Enabling white-box application testing
  • Providing full details of message properties to determine service behavior 

Operational Visibility

Mule ESB Enterprise Edition offers superior visibility for system-level issues.  This allows
operational staff to:

  • Configure SLA alerts to proactively discover potential issues before they impact performance
  • Investigate individual component processing time to find and resolve bottlenecks
  • Configure dashboards for comprehensive monitoring of servers, services and applications
  • Integrate with popular monitoring frameworks via SNMP traps
