Build, manage and deploy Mule apps in your MCP-supported IDE of choice.
Today we’re excited to announce a host of new capabilities that make it easy to extend Anypoint Code Builder to any MCP supported Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Cursor , Windsurf or Trae.ai. Developers can get the most out of Anypoint Code Builder, no matter where their development workflow happens.
Anypoint Code Builder (ACB) is MuleSoft’s next generation IDE. As a VS Code based IDE, it offers a host of modern development capabilities for our customers as they craft APIs and integrations supporting countless application interactions every single day. Tools like ACB continue to be the cornerstone of agentic transformation across a vast number of businesses and industries. As we move further into the agentic world, developers are becoming more accustomed to AI-enriched coding capabilities, ranging from natural language generation to codebase parsing and proactive de-bugging.
The growing popularity of IDEs that are specifically geared towards building with AI mandate a degree of flexibility within existing workflows, in order to empower Developers to meet the expectations placed upon them as AI accelerates all aspects of the software development life cycle.
Whether our customers want to develop in Anypoint Code Builder, via a third party AI-first IDE or have an Agent write code on their behalf, we want MuleSoft to be available wherever developers are working to build the next generation of AI enriched integrations & automations.
IDEs specifically dedicated to AI Development – Cursor, Windsurf and Trae.ai, all of which are built on VS Code– are surging in popularity. These tools embed AI functionalities inline as part of the Developer experience.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is another capability seeing widespread adoption in the tech industry–it’s an open standard that enables AI models to seamlessly interact with external data sources and tooling.
At MuleSoft, we’re continuing to pioneer our own AI development practices to keep pace with this evolving landscape. Salesforce's AI technology, Einstein, is accessible across Anypoint Code Builder so that developers have the power of Generative AI at their fingertips when building applications. MuleSoft also recently announced support for both the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) an pair of emerging standard that enables developers to expose their applications to autonomous agents and enable inter-agent communcation, supporting agentic transformation through MuleSoft's actionability.
Anypoint Code Builder continues to be the home for MuleSoft development, but we understand that workflows are growing to address the new capabilities that AI affords. Thanks to our investment in VS Code and MCP, MuleSoft developers can now have the best of both worlds–with access to an array of Anypoint Code Builder features while working in any third-party MCP supported environment.
We’re providing a range of powerful features to streamline MuleSoft development from third party IDEs. Using natural language, you’ll be able to:

With these new capabilities we're meeting developers where they are, empowering them to get the most out of MuleSoft in their AI IDE of choice. This is about flexibility, innovation, and embracing the future of AI-enriched development.
