EnergyAustralia Switches on MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform to Enhance Customer Experience Through Personalisation

MELBOURNE – May 8, 2017 – MuleSoft, Inc. (NYSE: MULE), the leading platform for building application networks, today announced that EnergyAustralia, one of Australia’s leading energy retailers, will deploy MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform™. MuleSoft will enable the business to offer omnichannel services to consumers and obtain a 360 degree view of each customer and their energy consumption.

EnergyAustralia serves more than 2.6 million electricity and gas customer accounts in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, the ACT and Queensland. The organisation is a leader in a market that is being disrupted by technology innovation, regulation, market pricing and the ability of its customers to both consume and sell electricity.

MuleSoft will help EnergyAustralia streamline connectivity between disparate systems where the company currently holds customer data, such as information siloed in smart metering and billing systems. Anypoint Platform will enable EnergyAustralia to efficiently unlock the data from these existing systems and control the flow of this data to provide a 360-degree view of EnergyAustralia customers. Also, by taking an API-led approach to connectivity, EnergyAustralia will be able to rapidly build innovative customer experiences, such as delivering local weather forecasts to help consumers manage their energy consumption.

“As energy moves from being a commodity to a consumable good, EnergyAustralia is positioning itself at the forefront of digital transformation to ensure that consumers have visibility into and control over their energy decisions. Consumers expect a 360 view of their account and their energy consumption. APIs enable the real-time connectivity consumers are demanding. We are delighted to be working with EnergyAustralia to provide the hybrid integration platform and API-led connectivity approach fueling their IT and customer experience transformation,” said Will Bosma, vice president of Asia Pacific, MuleSoft.

Anypoint Platform is also enabling EnergyAustralia to provide consumers the opportunity to enroll in the energy efficiency and conservation programs and sign up for self-service options and receipt of status updates on power outages during storms.
