MuleSoft Releases Mule Data Integrator for Data Mapping and Transformation

Graphical designer simplifies development, maintenance and deployment of maps for data integration
Thursday, November 19, 2009
SAN FRANCISCO – November 19, 2009 – MuleSoft, The Web Middleware Company, announces the general availability of Mule Data Integrator, a new product that simplifies complex data integration and transformation tasks. The product is seamlessly integrated with the leading open source enterprise service bus, Mule ESB, providing users with a comprehensive infrastructure for application integration and SOA.
With Mule Data Integrator’s intuitive Eclipse-based graphical designer, non-technical personnel can easily create data maps, leveraging Mule Data Integrator’s extensive support for sample documents and complete capture of specification descriptions. The designer reduces the ongoing maintenance burden with automated version upgrades and regression testing.
“Data integration problems often require developers to perform complex data mapping and transformation tasks,” said Ken Yagen, senior director of engineering for MuleSoft. “Creating, testing, and maintaining these maps manually in code is extremely time-consuming and is costly to manage and support over time. Mule Data Integrator dramatically simplifies these tasks, and its graphical designer makes it accessible even to non-technical business analysts.”
Mule Data Integrator complements Mule ESB’s flexibility in messaging formats, providing an equally flexible data transformation solution that supports a wide variety of structured and unstructured data. Mule Data Integrator’s capabilities include:
  • Eclipse-based graphical designer for intuitive visual mapping of complex transformations
  • Rich mapping functionality with broad support for multiple data formats and schemas (e.g., Java, XML, XSD, WSDL, database, COBOL, flat file)
  • Developer productivity features, including document import/export, incremental map execution, and visualization of example instance documents
  • High throughput runtime, integrated seamlessly with Mule ESB
“With Mule Data Integrator, enterprises can now solve their tough data integration problems much more quickly and with less maintenance overhead than ever before,” added Yagen. “Whether our customers are integrating data sources when upgrading an application, handling data from legacy COBOL and mainframe systems, or integrating various data formats when on-boarding customers and trading partners, Mule Data Integrator can be the ideal solution.”
Mule Data Integrator is compatible with Mule ESB 2.1 and higher and is immediately available. The graphical designer is free for download at www.mulesoft.com.
