Advisor Solution Architect -MuleSoft at DXC Technology
About Mary Joy Sabal
Mary Joy loves technology, nature, people, life, and a good laugh. She was born and grew up in the Philippines, but now enjoys living in New Zealand. Mary Joy says "shifting my degree to Information Technology has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and it really is only the beginning. I’ve been in the IT industry for nearly ten years now, starting as a COBOL Developer and then spending five years in Java, before finally shifting to software integration."
She kicked off her MuleSoft journey in 2017 and fell in love with the product. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that she decided to move outside of her comfort zone and deep-dive into the MuleSoft architecture side of things. "To date, I’ve completed all five MuleSoft certifications that were on my list covering MuleSoft API design, development, and architecture. I’m lucky enough to receive challenging projects and support from my team, this helped me absorb the topics."
Last year, Mary Joy set the goal of clearing all of the MuleSoft certifications on her list first before moving on to her next mission of contributing to the MuleSoft community. "I truly believe that I should be technically equipped enough to help others. My first MuleSoft speaking engagement wasn’t even a local meetup, it was an international event - MuleSoft CONNECT: Now JAPAC." Fast forward a few months, she has spoken at MuleSoft Meetups, wrote blogs on MuleSoft.com, and is now one of the co-organizers of the Wellington Meetup group.
Mary Joy says that becoming a MuleSoft Ambassadress means a lot to her. "I know for sure that it will open endless opportunities for me in the future to do what I really love. I look at it as a fruit of labor for the past three wonderful years working with MuleSoft."

In 2019, Guilherme became a MuleSoft Group Leader in São Paulo to enable him to contribute even more to the MuleSoft Community. He is currently a Lead Integration Engineer for the Enterprise Application Systems division of the Office of Information Technology at Brown University where he is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of web APIs and application integrations for the University. Tony originally joined Brown University in 2012 as a fixed-term contract employee to assist with the implementation of the University’s new identity management system. He was promoted to a regular staff member before the new system went live in late 2014. In 2015, Tony took on the sole responsibility of realizing the University’s latest IT investment in a MuleSoft Enterprise license in which he served as the solitary developer and administrator of the MuleSoft platform. He achieved his first MCD certification for Mule 3 in 2016.
Tony has been active in the MuleSoft community since 2015, when he began regularly networking with and evangelizing the MuleSoft platform to fellow Higher Ed MuleSoft customers and prospects via attendance at MuleSoft Connect conferences, summits, workshops, and meetups. He became an active participant in the MuleSoft Champions program in 2016 and hosted a MuleSoft-sponsored Meetup in the University’s student center that same year. Tony competed in the MuleSoft Hackathon 2020 with his entry, “Jotto 2020“, a precursor to the immensely popular New York Time’s online game, “Wordle“, which debuted later in 2022. His leisure proclivities include cross-country running; creating works of music with digital audio software and virtual instruments; watching movies; playing board games; and computer programming: modern programming in Java on a PC, and retro-programming in BASIC and Assembly on 8-bit home computers.
Edgar started working as a Salesforce developer 12 years ago and one of the biggest problems he faced during that time was integration. "Even as technology changed and more features were available for developers, it was very common to have issues connecting to legacy or cloud systems." He was first introduced to MuleSoft five years ago at a New York advertising company when a team member showed him Anypoint Platform.
Edgar became interested as he saw how powerful and easy it was to create integrations between Salesforce and multiple platforms using MuleSoft. "I started to educate myself by working with small applications and experimenting. Eventually, I fell in love with the platform and I started recommending it. By that time, I also participated in the initial MuleSoft Forum program and saw many people sharing solutions with motivated me."
Edgar has always believed that it’s important to share knowledge so that other people will learn and have the ability to resolve common problems easily. This is the reason why he likes to participate in forums and Meetups, write about specific scenarios on his blog, and try to reach as many people as he can so that they can also be a part of this community.
"I’m really excited to become a MuleSoft Ambassador because there I have a responsibility to continue sharing high quality content, educating new people on how to use Anypoint Platform, and also providing as much feedback as I can to make MuleSoft better."
