Trading TIBCO for a simple, scalable solution

When Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target all become your competitors, you sit up and take notice.  A top American retail chain offering pet supplies and pet services like grooming and training found itself under pressure as the major big box and online retailers started offering a broader range of pet supplies both online and in-store. They needed to support new digital initiatives and create a single view of the customer to create relevant, personalized experiences. Therefore, the retailer needed a simple, scalable integration platform that could easily provide connectivity to cloud and on-prem systems, be extensible and flexible enough to add new digital experiences and provide both batch and real-time data processing.

This retail chain truly had to differentiate themselves in the market and reduce customer churn. They determined their growth strategy had to deliver customized, high-value services in their retail locations to drive both sales growth and customer loyalty.  The solution that TIBCO offered was composed of multiple, disparate solutions, with different design tools and different management environments. This would significantly increase complexity in development, deployment, and management. And if this retail company wanted to add API management to support mobile applications, another layer of complexity would be required. Finally, TIBCO was only usable by core IT developers, which hindered the retailer’s ability to innovate quickly.

Contrast this with MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, which delivers a complete set of API management and connectivity requirements on a single runtime with unified design tooling and a single pane of glass for management. MuleSoft also stood out for having the broadest connectivity to cloud and on-premises systems. Anypoint Platform’s unified and flexible nature  was a solution that was cost-effective, easy-to-use and scalable.
