r.Potential orchestrates the future of work with MuleSoft.
Challenge
Identifying the units of potential in a hybrid workforce
r.Potential is a startup and spin-off from the Adecco Group, the world’s leading workforce solutions company. As AI comes to the fore, r.Potential’s goal is to help enterprises strategically manage human and digital labor at scale.
In analyzing 1,900 of the world’s largest enterprises (representing 100 million employees), it claims to have identified $12.5 trillion in unlocked potential. Potential that could be realized by orchestrating humans and AI agents. To achieve this breakthrough, r.Potential needed to build AI-powered tools that could provide transparent, real-time strategic recommendations trained specifically for C-suite decision-making.
“On a daily basis, I have to figure out what the humans in my organization should be doing versus what agents should be doing,” said Ron Chaney, Chief Technology Officer at r.Potential. “We take the global labor graph and break it down by task to develop what we call ‘units of potential’.”
Objective
Building a secure orchestration layer for thousands of agents
r.Potential is leveraging vast information not currently found in existing AI models. This includes real-time global labor data and the Adecco Group’s decades of extensive workforce insights; it also requires r.Potential to build a network of thousands of specialized AI agents.
This work faced a critical hurdle: the need for a complex orchestration layer to coordinate AI agents. r.Potential required a system that could register every agent and seamlessly direct them to respond to user prompts securely and at scale.
With the workforce possibilities of AI moving at pace, and enterprise customers looking for guidance, r.Potential wanted its developer resources focused on innovation, not operational orchestration. It needed a process that could securely connect and integrate with customers’ systems, including SAP, Workday, and Salesforce.
“When we built our agents, we didn’t want to have to build the orchestration layer ourselves,” Chaney explained. “We needed a partner with enterprise-grade experience who knew how to navigate the largest customers in the world. This enables us to focus on the agents that are delivering value for our customers instead.”
Solution
Accelerating innovation with MuleSoft Agent Fabric
By partnering with MuleSoft, r.Potential utilizes MuleSoft Agent Fabric to act as a central ‘Insight Flow Broker’. All r.Potential agents are identified and registered within MuleSoft.
The solution uses Agent Registry for dynamic discovery and Agent Broker to orchestrate specialized Agent-to-Agent (A2A) interactions via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Flex Gateway and Agent Visualizer ensure that this entire ecosystem, deployed in a secure private cloud, remains observable and protected.
Beyond orchestration, r.Potential uses MuleSoft’s pre-built adapters to securely ingest customer data. This integration allows its AI tools to deliver significantly richer and more accurate answers.
“We also use MuleSoft to connect to our customers’ data securely,” said Chaney. “We put our trust in MuleSoft because it has enterprise-grade security, which is important to our clients and us.”
MuleSoft gives us the foundation to orchestrate our agents at scale with enterprise-grade security. It’s more than coordination, it’s the connective tissue for the next generation of enterprise intelligence.

Results
Speed to insight in a fast-moving market
The impact of this partnership was immediate. By offloading the orchestration layer to MuleSoft, r.Potential’s product team could focus entirely on building their own platform and delivering value to customers. This pre-built orchestration layer allows the r.Potential team to bypass a massive development hurdle, saving 15 months of work in combined man-hours.
“Because MuleSoft takes care of the Agent Fabric product for us, our product team didn’t have to spend time on it,” Chaney said.
r.Potential is now ingesting live data from its first three enterprise customers. This live data will provide richer insights into workforce optimization.
“We can now help companies realize the full potential of their organizations with AI,” said Chaney.
With a foundation built on trust and security, r.Potential is now looking toward a future where it can deploy digital workers for customers globally.
Because MuleSoft takes care of the Agent Fabric product for us, our product team didn’t have to spend time on it. We can focus more on the agents that are delivering value for our customers instead.
