Revenue Accountant

Do you want to work with great people? MuleSoft is going through a period of explosive growth and we want a Staff Revenue Accountant who will bring industry-specific revenue knowledge to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

About the Position:

This position offers daily exposure to trailblazers in the software integration market, thought leaders in the tech space, senior level executives including the CFO, and a world class accounting/finance team. This person will be working out of our San Francisco headquarters and will report to the Revenue and Operations Manager. Position Deliverables:

30 days:

  • Gain an understanding of MuleSoft’s products, revenue streams, and policies by participating in meetings and working with other functional teams

 60 days:

  • Begin reviewing contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Begin to manage and complete month-end close tasks, as well as identifying trends in our financial statements
  • Be the subject matter expert with regards to training and professional services revenue by working cross-functionally with other departments
  • Gain a strong understanding of and be able to articulate MuleSoft’s services revenue to key stakeholders

 90 days:  

  • Identify gaps in processes/systems and propose solutions to improve and automate them to help prepare the company for future growth
  • Work with the Revenue Manager to continue updating MuleSoft’s policies (revenue recognition policy, etc.) to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Participate in forecasting of services revenue/deferred revenue

 About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred but not required
  • 1+ years of in-depth ASC 985-605 (SOP 97-2-2) and ASC 605 revenue experience
  • Experience with services revenue recognition
  • Experience working cross-functionally with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, fast growing company where adaptability is imperative
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills to ensure results are accurate and to communicate findings in a precise, simple manner
  • Detail-oriented with ability to see bigger picture
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with a Big Four a plus
